Easyology Pets Feather KittyStick Cat Toy

Product Description

Activate your kitty's natural instincts with this feathered toy. Safer than a laser and just as fun, this fishing-inspired toy offers hours of fun and healthy exercise for your furry friend.

Cat lovers know that a bored cat causes trouble. He or she will scratch at your furniture or make off with pens, keys and other items. Your kitty has probably even raced through the house in the middle of the night — much to your frustration.

Keeping kitty entertained will not only help him or her stay young and healthy, but by channeling all that energy with acceptable diversions, he or she will be a better-behaved pet, too. This feathered toss toy is the perfect choice for both exercise and fun.

With a flick of the wrist, you'll send the brilliant feathered "lure" soaring the length of the room, capturing kitty's attention and activating her natural drive. Cats will happily chase and capture their "prey" — if you're not quick enough to reel it back in for another toss. It's great fun for cats, kittens, grown-ups and kids alike.

My cats LOVE this toy
By Tina R

My cats LOVE this toy! When I first pulled it out of the bag I was really unsure about if it would last. at first I actually thought the stick was broken until I looked closer and saw that it actually expands! I wasn't sure about it using a fishing wire type thing instead of a regular string but it seems to help make it more bouncy. The way it moves really does look like a bird fluttering about.

I have a 9 year old lazy boy and a 4 year old energetic girl cat. they both loved it. My old man started to play like he was a kitten again, I got him jumping super high in the air like he used to do when I first got him. It made me so happy to see that!

I do have one problem, the kittystick came with a little card that said to register it to get your lifetime warranty and when I registered it the website said it was only warrantied for 3 months. But when I registered I did get a coupon for $5 off my next purchase, so I bought another kitty stick with it just in case :)

I received this item at a discounted rate for my honest review.

**Update** I ordered another one for my mom and her cat for Christmas and she says her cat loves it too. She didn't know her cat could jump that high. Her cat has a tendency to attack the string to stop the feathers from moving.

**Update** After a few months the rod has put a hold in the bottom of the handle. A little bit of duct tape fixed it and we're still playing with it! My cats still come running when they hear the sound of the bag moving.

I love my new KittyStick Toy...almost as much as my cat does!

Wow!! This is the toy of my and mostly my cats', dreams!! When I first saw the toy in the bag, I'm thinking, 'I've seen better'...but, boy was I wrong to assume that. This is not just another mass market, pet store cat toy, that gets torn up in a few days, not unless you are careless with it. When you first slide the stick out of it's protective Nylon carrying bag, you will notice what looks like a fishing pole/rod. It actually looks like a short fly-fishing rod with fishing line and a huge giant fly 'lure' on it. All you do is carefully pull out the end of the telescopic pole and elongate it to it's full 38" (including the padded foam handle.) There's about 30" of fishing line with the feathered 'lure' on a little metal swivel.

The feathered toy has like 4 or 5 real 6'" bird feathers and a couple pieces of colored down feathers...your cat's favorite prey items. My cat's eyes get so focused (all big and dilated) on his toy and he like 'zones' out. I've never seen him get so 'involved' with a toy...he was stalking, chirping, in total hunting mode...like I wasn't even there. There's also a card that comes with the KittyStick that has a link to their website, where you can register your name for a lifetime warranty. Once you do that, you get a code for $5 off your next order, which I promptly took advantage of. I went ahead and ordered another KittyStick to take to & keep at my mom's house.

I received a discount for this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Kitties LOVE it! And I do KNOW cats! Nice STRONG line & "flies" like a bird.
By Angel

I just received this cat toy and so far the kitties love it! I have had multiple cats for over 40 years so I am pretty well versed in how difficult it is to find a good cat toy. So I figured I would write this review for at least 10 days straight so you honestly see how well it works over time. Those of you that have cats KNOW that they can love something one day and by day 4 or 5 they are done with it. I work full time, so we only have so much play time per day.

Day 1 - Got the toy and opened it up. It was in a nice storage bag that is pretty durable, for those of you who might want to put it back in there. For me, I will just put the toy into a drawer when done playing, not back into the bag. The feather toy is on a nice sturdy piece of fishing line. To be honest I would guess it is about 4 times thicker than the line I have seen on other cat toys, so that is good. Should be more durable.

As soon as I take the toy out, I see kitty eyes getting big like saucers as they anticipate this is something for THEM (smart kitties)! The pole extends to about twice it's length so you have a great deal of distance to swish around the toy. I like that when I was pulling on the toy, that it kind of "flew" around in the air, and it really kept the kitties playing. I only had one younger cat that was a bit afraid at first, but once she understood it was safe, she was having a blast chasing it around. We played for about 15 minutes until "mom" got tired. Tomorrow I will write day 2 update to see if kitties are still as excited. I am confident they will be!

Day 2 - Both cats played for a good 20 minutes today with the toy. They would have played much longer, but mom was tired. The youngest one Pickles, who is about 6 months old was playing wildly with the toy the entire time. She is fully clawed and she got a good hold of it several times. One time a very small piece of the feather got pulled off - it was less than an inch in length. So far so good!

Day 3 - Both kitties are getting smart and realize where I am keeping the toy. As soon as I opened the drawer they came running. We played for about 15 minutes and they are just as interested today as the were the first day.

Day 4 - Oh oh, we had fun fun fun until Pickles got the string wrapped around her body and then took off because she freaked out. She went running across the house dragging the pole behind her. Finally she went around the corner where the pole and toy came loose. But now she is nowhere to be found. The other kitties are having fun, but I suspect Pickles may avoid the toy for a bit. Just something to be careful with, since it is a fishing line.

Day 5 - Pickles was too timid to play, but the other kitties had a great time! Too bad mom doesn't have more energy to play though.

Day 6 - Played with everyone for about 20 minutes. Even Pickles is back playing - but carefully. So far, we love this toy!

Day 7 - Even big by Midnight who weighs 25 pounds was playing tonight. (I promise I feed him right, he is just big). Anyway they all had a good time. It looks like Pickles is still a bit afraid as she hid while we played. But everyone else is having fun. :) We played for about 15 minutes.

Day 8 - Mom may be getting more tired than the kitties. We played for a bit everyone but Pickles but I was just too pooped to play very long. Honestly so far so good. Really like the toy!

Day 9 - Oh hey, who do I see around the corner watching the other kitties playing. It's Pickles! Everyone had fun playing tonight. Pickles was excited by all of the action and she watched and even played a little. Kitties are still having a blast. We played for about 15 minutes or so. I am amazed how much they love this toy!

Day 10 - Today all of the kitties played and Pickles has fully regained her confidence in playing. I have to say I am very happy with this toy. The kitties love it! If you have cats, you will know that the normally get bored with a new toy in a matter of days. This toy passes the test for me. The only warning I will give is to be careful that the line doesn't accidentally wrap around your kitty like it did for Pickles. It only takes a second to happen and you don't want kitty to get hurt or be afraid. Super toy!

I received this cat toy for a discount for my honest and unbiased review.
